Weather Outlook 19th August 2019 (12 noon)

  • Outlook

Mostly fair weather is expected across St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) during the next 24 to 36 hours, as the Atlantic high pressure system continues to be the dominate feature. However, patches of low level clouds moving along an easterly wind flow are likely to generate occasional isolated showers.

By late Tuesday into Wednesday, a surface to mid-level trough is expected across the Lesser Antilles. As a result, cloudy conditions accompanying occasional light to moderate showers are likely across potions of SVG.

Meanwhile, a tropical wave presently located over the Central Atlantic, and moving near 20 mph (31 km/h), is expected to approach our area by late Wednesday.

Easterly to South-easterly winds ranging between 10 to 25 km/h (6 to 16 mph) are forecast, however an increase to near 35 km/h (22 mph) is expected by early Thursday.

Moderate seas are expected with swells peaking near 2.0 meters (7.0 feet)

A layer of Saharan dust haze is forecast to move over SVG overnight and linger into Wednesday.
