Weather Outlook - 17th October 2020 (12 Noon)

Scattered light to moderate showers are forecast during the course of the day as a tropical wave affects Saint Vincent and the Grenadines today (Saturday). Medium moisture is associated with this wave, and though an upper level trough is present, it will remain to the east of the island chain having little impact on the wave’s development. Therefore, thunderstorm activity will be limited.

In addition, deep moisture associated with a surface trough, trailing behind of the wave is likely to result in scattered moderate to heavy showers across SVG from tonight into Sunday.  After which, the atmosphere becomes relative dry and a few occasional showers are likely around Monday and Tuesday.

A light to moderate wind regime (5km/h-20km/h) will move across the islands, blowing predominantly from the east, becoming mostly south easterly from Monday.

Slight to moderate sea conditions are forecast (1.0m on the western coasts, 1.5m on the eastern coasts) throughout this 72 hours period and, there will be no significant haze intrusion.
