Weather Outlook - 7th August 2021(6pm)

Models suggest that instability trailing a previous tropical wave will trigger light to moderate showers across Sunday night into Monday. There is also potential for isolated thunderstorms. Residents and motorists in the red and orange zones near the La Soufriere volcano should be alert. Another wave is anticipated for Tuesday and its associated shower activity is expected to intensity as the day progresses. Meanwhile, the SVG Meteorological Service continues to monitor a tropical wave off the coast of Africa that has the potential for tropical cyclone development within the next 5 days

Moderate to fresh(20-35km/h)east northeasterly (ENE) to easterly (E)  trades will cross the islands tonight with gusts near showers, before decreasing(~30km/h) on Monday. A further decrease(15-25km/h) is expected on Wednesday. Seas will be slight to moderate in open waters with swells ranging between 0.5m to 1.0m on the western coasts and peaking at 2.0m on the eastern coasts. In addition, slight haze intrusion will be across the region but could thin out by Monday evening.
