Weather Outlook - 24th September 2020 (12Noon)

Instability associated with a low-level trough triggered some light to moderate showers across St. Vincent & the Grenadines this morning. A few scattered thunderstorms were also experienced in the process. Similar conditions should persist this afternoon as instability lingers. Warm conditions should return on Friday but during nightfall, a few showers are likely. Models suggest that the chance of light to heavy showers and thunderstorm activity increases from Saturday afternoon as a tropical wave inches closer to the island chain under favourable upper level conditions. While light showers are likely early Sunday, additional thunderstorm activity are anticipated by late evening.

Gentle to moderate (15-25km/h) east south easterly trades will move across the islands before slightly decreasing(10-20km/h)and becoming easterly late Friday. A predominant east north east to easterly flow is anticipated from Saturday.

Sea conditions are forecast to be slight (1.0m-1.2m) during the next 24 hours, becoming slight to moderate(1.0m-1.5m) across Saturday. No significant dust haze intrusion is forecast for this period.
