The Atlantic High Pressure System is dominant across the region with brisk winds bringing occasional shallow cloud patches and showers.  As the Western Atlantic High shifts eastward across the Atlantic, an area of lower pressure (cold front) could become squeezed and cut-off between the Higher pressure areas by Friday… (See 06z analysis below). This expected ‘cut-off Low’ could linger in the Eastern

Atlantic, inducing a shearline/trough feature across the Windward Islands on Saturday. Moisture converging at the low-mid levels could result in increased shower activity across our islands during Sunday.

Expect fresh (30 - 40km/h) north-easterly trades with occasional strong gusts tonight and Friday. Wind speeds should be decreasing over the weekend with the induced shearline /trough feature. An east south-easterly flow is expected during Sunday as the feature crosses the region.

Moderate sea swells range 1.5 – 2.5m across St. Vincent and the Grenadines; originating from north east …Small craft-operators and sea bathers should continue to exercise caution for above normal swells and brisk winds… wave heights would tend to fall during Saturday, but could be maintained by the possible ‘cut-off low’ in the Eastern Atlantic over the weekend.

Barometric readings should range 1015 - 1018mb this afternoon, with wider fluctuations on Friday (1014 -1019mb) falling over the weekend (1013 -1015mb) as the cut-off low drifts southward in the eastern Atlantic. The cut-off low should fill by middle of next week.

No significant dust concentrations are expected across our area over the next few days....JMCD
