A weak lower-level shearline/trough lies elongated across the island chain, with moisture trailing behind its axis south of Barbados and the extreme Southern Windward Islands. Models indicate a slim (20%) chance for shower activity to possibly spread across St.Vincent and the Grenadines this evening into Sunday morning.
Rainfall accumulations between 1 and 2 inches (25 - 50mm) across parts of mainland St.Vincent may occur especially in isolated mountainous areas, as mid-levels are marginally supportive but upper levels remain relatively dry. Meanwhile, hazy conditions are thickening across the islands and the Western Atlantic High Pressure System is struggling to rebuild. However, a Low Pressure area is expected to deepen along a cold front in the North Atlantic Ocean, moving north-eastward to balance the Eastern Atlantic High Pressure during next few days.
Moderate to occasionally fresh (20 - 4km/h) north-easterly trades should continue over the weekend, with slight reduction by Tuesday afternoon.
Slight to moderate sea conditions with north-easterly swells ranging 0.5m to 1.2m on the west coasts and 1.2m to 1.8m on east coasts, can be expected over the next few days.
Barometric readings should range 1013 - 1017mb over the next few days.
A plume of Saharan dust is approaching the islands and dust concentrations could peak Sunday with moderate haze as PM2.5 values could near 84µg/m3 and PM10 values near 95µg/m3, possibly decreasing on Monday.
