Overnight, unstable conditions associated with the passage of a tropical wave generated showers and thunderstorms across potions of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG). A gradual improvement in the weather conditions can now be expected, as the Atlantic High Pressure System re-establishes itself across the Lesser Antilles. However, patches of low level clouds moving along an easterly wind flow could result in occasionally cloudy skies and a few passing showers.
In addition, another tropical wave is located over the Central Atlantic and moving near 15 mph (24 km/h). This system is expected to produce cloudy conditions, pockets of moderate to heavy showers and thunderstorm activity over the Eastern Caribbean Islands, including SVG, from late Saturday into Sunday.
East to East northeast winds ranging between 20 to 40 km/h (12 to 25 mph) are forecast to continue across our area.
Moderate easterly seas ranging between 1.5 to 2.5 meters (5.0 to 8.0 feet) are expected during the next few days. Small craft operators and sea bathers should exercise caution due to above normal swells and reduced visibility in dust haze
The thick layer of Saharan dust haze that is presently reducing visibility across SVG, will persist into the weekend.
