Instability from a low level trough will be approaching the islands tonight to affect over the weekend. Therefore, generally cloudy skies with showers are forecast for Saturday. Instability will linger into Sunday but an improvement is anticipated as the day progress. By Monday, the ridge of high pressure is forecast to rebuild across the island chain, resulting in mostly fair conditions.

A moderate (20km/h- 35km/h) north east to east north easterly wind regime (NE-ENE) will persist from tonight into Saturday, becoming east to east north-easterly (E-ENE) from Saturday night into Monday. As the ridge of high pressure builds, an increase in wind speed greater than 35km/h is possible from Sunday night.

Slight to moderate sea conditions (1.2m on the west coasts and 2.0m on the east coasts) will become generally moderate (1.5-2.0m)  from tomorrow towards this forecast end.

There will be no significant haze intrusion within this forecast period.
