72 hrs Weather Outlook

Showers will continue tonight across Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, with model guidance indicating an accumulation of 50mm (approximately 2 inches) possible by 2 o’clock am. The showers and isolated thunderstorms are associated with the passage of a tropical wave/disturbance with a 20% chance of cyclone formation.

Further more, another tropical wave will begin to affect the region around late Sunday adding to the instability. A few showers will continue into Monday but the showers will dissipate as the day progress. By Monday night, a shearline will move into the area resulting in some showers into Tuesday.

A moderate wind flow (15kmh- 35km/h) will move across the islands, decreasing in speed from Sunday evening to approximately 10km/h-20km/h and blowing predominantly from the south east into Tuesday. The wind will veer, blowing from the North West around Tuesday afternoon, becoming calm on occasions.

Sea conditions will remain moderate (1.5m-2.0m), before a slight improvement (1.0m-1.5m) takes place from Sunday night.  In addition, there will be no significant haze intrusion within this forecast period.
