Generally cloudy skies and chance of moderate showers and thunderstorms are forecast for today (Sunday) for Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, as the atmosphere remains relatively moist across the region due to a low level trough coupled with a marginal favourable upper level. Thus, the flash-flood warning will remain in effect.
From Sunday night, a gradual improvement, i.e. decrease in shower activity, is forecast with lingering moisture into Monday morning triggering a few early morning showers. By Monday afternoon, a dry atmosphere, with very little support from upper levels will result in mostly partly cloudy skies into Tuesday, with a few showers likely around Tuesday night. Wednesday is forecast to be mostly fair.
Moderate to fresh easterly trades (20km/h-40km/h) will move across the islands, becoming gusty (approximately 45km/h) from this afternoon into Monday morning. A moderate easterly wind flow (15km/h-35km/h) is likely around Tuesday and Wednesday.
Consequently due to gusty winds, sea conditions will be moderate in open waters, with swells peaking to 2.5m on the eastern coasts, and 1.5m on the western coasts during the next 24 hours. Small craft operators and sea bathers should continue to exercise caution. In addition, brief haze intrusion around Sunday night into Monday morning is possible, with no other significant intrusion within the next 24 hours period.
