Some scattered showers and an increase in cloudy conditions are likely across Saint Vincent and the Grenadines later this afternoon and within the next 24 hours as a surface to low-level trough approaches the island chain. A mid-level trough may provide some enhancement to showers on Friday whereas a south easterly wind flow across Saturday and Sunday would aid in the transfer of equatorial moisture to our islands, maintaining cloudy skies and increasing the potential for showers over the weekend.

Moderate to fresh(20-30km/h)east to east north-easterly trades will move across the islands before becoming east south easterly from Saturday and slightly decreasing(~25km/h) in speed from Sunday.

Sea conditions are currently moderate in open waters, with swells peaking to 2.0m on the eastern coasts, and 1.5m on the western coasts . Small craft operators and sea-bathers should continue to exercise caution for above normal sea swells especially on eastern coasts. Slight to moderate(1.2m-1.8m) conditions could return from late Friday. In addition, dust concentrations would gradually decrease across the 72 hours period.
