Showers are forecast for tonight as a trough system approaches the island to begin affecting on Saturday. Residents and motorists are asked to exercise caution as pockets of deep convective activity (heavy showers and thunderstorms) are likely as the weekend progresses. This instability will last into Monday morning.

A moderate (15km/h-25km/h) east to east south-easterly (E-ESE) wind flow will move across the island over the weekend. Gusts near showers are likely. Seas will remain slight to moderate in open waters with swells peaking at 1.0m on the western coasts (Layou, Barrouallie, etc.) and ranging between 2.0m-2.5m on the eastern coasts (Stubbs Bay, North Union, etc.) . Small craft operators and sea-bathers are asked to exercise caution, especially on the eastern coasts. In addition, there will be no significant haze intrusion over the weekend; however, slight intrusion is possible by Monday.
