Sunny skies could be interrupted by cloud patches with a few showers and isolated thunderstorms across St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) this weekend, as moisture bands cross the islands feeding into Tropical Storm (TS) Philippe. Tropical Storm Rina is expected to weaken this weekend and TS Philippe is expected to move away from the island chain by late Monday/Tuesday, pulling a

few showers and thunderstorm activity across our islands.

Light-gentle winds (<15km/h) with varying direction gradually increase during Tuesday, with gentle-moderate (15 - 25km/h) east south-easterly breeze and occasional gusts near 30 km/h.

Marine conditions are slight in open water with swells ranging 0.5m to 1.2m, gradually rising (1.0m – 1.5m) Tuesday. TS Philippe lingers east of the Leeward Islands, propagating long period waves which could occasionally break with life-threatening surf and rip currents along our shores…Small craft operators and sea-bathers should exercise caution.

The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Meteorological Services (SVG MET Services) will continue to monitor the Tropical Atlantic Ocean and issue updates/advisories as necessary.
