A FLASH-FLOOD WARNING is in effect for St. Vincent and the Grenadines

Effective 4:00pm Tuesday, 13th October, 2020

Latest satellite and radar imagery have suggested that localized convection (showers and thunderstorms) are occurring in the northern and north western portions of the mainland. Such an extensive area of intense showers suggests that some flash flooding may occur. Due to the already saturated nature of the soils, landslides are also likely.

Thus, a flash flood warning is in effect until 6:00pm, today, Tuesday 13th October, 2020.

Model guidance is suggesting approximately 50mm (2 inches) of rainfall accumulations possible within this warning period.

Residents and motorists in areas prone to flooding and landslides or near rivers and streams should continue to exercise caution.

A Flash-Flood Warning is issued when flooding is imminent or is already occurring.
