Smooth seas on the west and slight seas on the east in open water should continue today with northerly swells up to 1.5m. However, some deterioration in sea conditions is projected for overnight Sunday into Monday with moderate to rough (1.8 to 3.0 m) northerly to north-westerly swells on east and west of SVG. A deep-layered Low Pressure System in the northern Atlantic is propagating large swells southwards to the eastern Caribbean today Sunday, 4th March, 2018.
These swells could start affecting the coastal waters, particularly the northern, north-western and western coastlines around St Vincent and the Grenadines overnight Sunday into early Monday. This activity is expected to persist into late Wednesday and will become more adverse at times of high tide.

8:52 pm today Sunday; 9:06 am and 9:38 pm Monday; 10:09 am and 10:20 pm Tuesday; 11:04 am and 11:04 pm Wednesday.
As a consequence, a HIGH-SURF ADVISORY and SMALL-CRAFT WARNING will be in effect for St Vincent and the Grenadines from 6:00 p.m Sunday 4th March through 6:00 p.m Wednesday 7th March, 2018.
Large waves and dangerous rip-currents can be expected mainly along the western, northern and north-east coasts of St Vincent and the Grenadines which will create unsafe conditions for small-craft operators. Sea-bathers and other users of the sea are advised to stay out of the water during this period.
The small craft warning means that seas up to 3.0m (10ft) are expected to affect our marine area. The High-Surf Advisory is issued when breaking wave action poses a threat to life and property within the surf zone. Sea bathers and other users of the sea are also advised to stay out of the water during the next few days.
This Advisory and Warning will be in effect until 6:00 p.m Wednesday 7th March, 2018.
