Moisture and instability associated with a tropical wave will continue to produce cloudiness, showers and thunderstorm activity over the islands during the next 12-18 hours.
Thereafter, an approaching tropical wave presently located about 400 miles east of St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG), moving west northwest near 15 mph will begin to affect the islands. This wave continues to produce disorganized showers and thunderstorms, and environmental conditions are now only marginally conducive for development. Regardless of development, this system is likely to bring pockets of moderate to heavy showers and thunderstorm activity across SVG by late tonight into Saturday.
Residents and motorists in low lying areas and near rivers and streams are advised to be vigilant today and over the weekend.
The Meteorological Services will continue to monitor the progress of this system and provide updates as necessary.
Additionally, the National Hurricane Center is issuing advisories on Tropical Storm Ernesto located over the far North Atlantic. This system does not pose a threat to SVG.
Easterly winds ranging between 15 km/h to 35km/h are expected during the next 72 hours.
Slight to moderate easterly sea swells seas are expected during the next few days with swells peaking near 2.0 meters (7.0 feet)
No significant haze intrusion is expected during this forecast period.
