Later this evening into tonight, some showers could converge behind a trough (dry axis above 900mb… see visible imagery) which is crossing the island chain. Marginal moisture support at the mid-levels could support shallow low level cloud patches drifting within east north-easterly trades bringing passing showers on Friday. Another weak lower level trough could bring scattered showers across our area

by Saturday afternoon and lingering on Sunday.

Moderate east north-easterly breeze (20 - 30km/h) should increase to fresh (30-40km/h) overnight. A reduction in wind speeds can be expected by Saturday afternoon with the approach of a weak trough. Wind directions could vary during Saturday night (east north-easterly to east south-easterly), returning to east north-easterly fresh breeze again behind trough axis on Sunday.

Slight (0.6m - 1.2m) seas on the west coasts and slight to moderate (1.2m – 1.8m) seas on the east coasts this afternoon, should be rising during Friday to peak near 1.8m on west and 2.5m on east during Friday night. Small craft operators and sea-bathers should exercise caution... Additionally, northerly swells are expected in open Atlantic Ocean (beyond 59W) from late Sunday.

Mean Sea Level pressure should range 1016mb - 1018mb possibly rising to 1019mb during Friday as the western Atlantic High Pressure builds. An eastward shift in the High Pressure centers during Saturday could result in readings maxing near 10120mb over the weekend.

Slight hazy conditions have thinned, but patchy slight haze is still expected during Friday, thinning out late Saturday.
