Moisture associated with a weak low level trough lingered across our islands this morning, with a few showers. Meanwhile, the Atlantic High Pressure System is building across the region with brisk east north-easterly winds.A weak low-level shearline should be across our area late Monday, which could be supported by favourable lower-mid level conditions on Tuesday into Wednesday resulting in some
cloudiness and scattered showers moving across the islands. The trough could deepen and become cut-off low towards the north north-east of the island chain by late Wednesday.
Moderate to occasionally fresh (25 - 40km/h) breeze should continue from the east north-east into Monday. Wind speeds should generally decrease to moderate (20 - 30km/h) by Monday afternoon. Further reduction to occasionally gentle (10-15km/h) can be expected by mid-week, while veering to east south-east with passage of trough.
Slight to moderate sea conditions with swells ranging 1.0 to 2.0m are across our islands and could reduce further to range 0.5 – 1.5m during Wednesday.
Barometric readings should range 1013 - 1017mb over the next few days.
No significant dust concentrations are expected across our area over the next few days, but some thickening is possible by next weekend.
