Tropical Storm Dorian affected Saint Vincent and the Grenadines early Tuesday generating light to moderate showers, rain and thunderstorms. Rainfall accumulation of near / over 2 inches were recorded by stations across the island and there were only two reports of landslides.
Tropical storm Dorian continues to move away from the Lesser Antilles, however, high moisture levels continue to linger across the island chain. Models are depicting moisture levels to remain elevated well into tonight, therefore the possibility of some isolated showers and thunderstorms are forecast for this afternoon.
By tomorrow, a drying out of the atmosphere is likely reducing the chance for any significant shower activities but localized isolated thunderstorms remain possible. A tropical wave inches closer to the island chain and should be affecting Saint Vincent and the Grenadines by Thursday night into Friday morning.
South easterly winds at approximately 10km/h to 30km/h should persist into tomorrow, becoming easterly as the day progresses. However, a reduction in wind speed (10km/h to 25km/h) is forecast on Friday as the tropical wave affects the island.
Slight to moderate (1.2m- 1.8m) sea conditions are forecast for the rest of the day becoming generally slight (1.2m) for the remainder of the forecast period.
There is no significant haze intrusion throughout this forecast period.
