Unstable conditions from an approaching tropical wave will be affecting the islands this afternoon. For such, an increase in cloud cover by late evening is forecast with scattered showers.

The tropical wave is embedded within the Inter tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) and as the ITCZ moves northwards, possible isolated thunderstorms are likely. Instability from the tropical wave and the ITCZ will affect the islands into tomorrow with model guidance showing most of the shower activity around Friday morning into the afternoon. An improvement is anticipated around Saturday morning with mostly fair conditions into Sunday as a ridge of high pressure becomes the dominant feature.

East to east south easterly (E-ESE) winds at 15km/h to 25km/h is forecast throughout this forecast period. Sea conditions are forecast to be slight to moderate (1.0m-1.5m) this afternoon in open waters, becoming generally slight (0.5m - 1.0m) from this evening. Moderate conditions are forecast to return to the east coast on Saturday.  No significant haze intrusion is anticipated within this forecast period.
