Weather conditions are forecast to gradually deteriorate across Saint Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) during the next 72 hours due to low level instability and favourable mid to upper levels. Model guidance is indicating the occasional occurrence of showers and a high chance (70%) of isolated thunderstorm activity within this time period.

Firstly, this afternoon into tonight, a south-easterly wind flow will bring moisture from the equatorial regions, and then on Wednesday, instability will remain elevated as a surface to mid-level trough approaches the islands to affect well into Friday.

Tonight into Wednesday, a moderate east to east north-east (E-ENE) wind flow will be experienced across SVG. A light wind regime will return around Thursday blowing predominantly from the north. Generally, slight to moderate sea conditions (1.0m-1.5m) will be observed throughout this forecast period. There will be no significant haze intrusion within this forecast period.

Meanwhile, as of 11 am this morning tropical storm Sebastian was formed east-northeast of the Northern Leeward Islands. Tropical storm Sebastian is forecast to remain over open waters and poses no direct threat to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
