Weather Outlook - 6th January 2022(12 Noon)

Instability associated with a weak shearline lingers across the islands and may trigger a few scattered light to moderate showers during Thursday afternoon. Meanwhile, the chance of showers reduces heading into Friday. Occasional cloudy conditions are likely again on Saturday with moderate showers anticipated from time to time on Sunday.

Gentle to moderate(15-25km/h) south easterly trades could become east north easterly by late tonight(Thursday). A slight increase(20-35km/h) can be expected from Friday, possibly increasing to strong(~40km/h) on Sunday. Seas are currently slight to moderate in open water, with swells peaking up to 1.0m on western coasts and near 2.0m on eastern coasts. Conditions could deteriorate to generally moderate(1.5m - 2.2m) by Saturday evening. Small craft operators and sea bathers should exercise caution for above normal sea swells and occasional gusty winds. A thin film of Saharan dust haze will begin to cross the islands from late Thursday.
