The Atlantic High Pressure System is dominant; resulting in partly cloudy skies and breezy conditions with possible isolated showers this afternoon. Brisk winds generated by the High Pressure could bring some shallow moisture across our area later this evening into tonight. Meanwhile, the Sahara dust mass of varying intensity continues to reduce visibility across the islands is expected to thin out by Sunday.
By Saturday, a weak low level shear-line moves northward to result in instability and scattered showers. An increase in shower activity is expected on Sunday as a tropical wave moves closer to the islands.
Fresh to strong (30-50 km/h) easterly breeze are expected to continue this afternoon, with gust nearing gale strength (56 km/h) with a general decrease in speeds anticipated by Sunday. Also, moderate to rough seas (2.0 - 3.0 m) should generally decrease by Sunday.
