Moisture and instability will continue to generate occasional moderate to heavy showers and isolated thunderstorms across St. Vincent and the Grenadines today. Residents and motorists in areas prone to flooding or near rivers and streams should continue to exercise caution. By Thursday, model guidance suggests further deterioration in weather conditions as the upper atmospheric environment becomes more supportive. Consequently, shower activity is expected to increase in frequency and intensity, and persist into the weekend.
The weather advisory that is in effect for a risk of flash flooding may be upgraded to a flash-flood watch or warning.
Easterly to South-easterly winds at less than 15 km/h (9 mph) will continue; however, an increase to between 15 to 25 km/h (9 to 16 mph) is expected during Thursday, before decreasing to less than 15 km/h (mph) on Saturday. Seas will remain slight to moderate in open waters with swells ranging between 1.0 m to 1.5 m. No significant Saharan dust haze is forecast during the next 72 hours.
