A FLOOD-WATCH IS IN EFFECT FOR ST VINCENT AND THE GRENADINES

Until further notice Issued at 6:00 p.m, Tuesday 24th October, 2017

The interaction of an upper-level trough system and a tropical wave is expected to generate pockets of moderate to heavy showers, periods of rain and isolated thunderstorms across St. Vincent and the Grenadines tonight, with a likely increase in intensity into tomorrow.

Consequently, a Flood-Watch is now in effect for St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and will remain in effect until further notice.

Rainfall accumulations of up to 75mm {~3 inches} are likely with isolated higher amounts possible over mountainous area.

Residents and motorists in flood prone areas, areas prone to land slippage, near rivers and streams should continue to exercise caution and remain alert.

NOTE: A Flood-Watch is issued when conditions are favorable. It does not mean that flooding will occur but that it is possible. This watch will be up-dated as necessary.
