A ridge pattern is dominant across our islands allowing for fair weather conditions and a few brief passing showers within the next 24 hours. An increase in cloudiness is likely from Tuesday as weak shearlines cross the islands. This could trigger some showers up to midweek. In addition, Saharan dust haze concentrations will continue to cross our islands during this forecast period, reducing visibility and air quality. Haze could thicken by Tuesday. Be Alert.

Moderate to fresh (~20-35km/h) easterly to east north easterly trades are crossing our islands, Wind speeds should decrease (~30 km/h) along Wednesday. Seas are moderate in open water with swells peaking near 1.5m on western coasts and peaking near 2.0m on eastern coasts.  Swell heights could further increase on Wednesday. Small craft operators and sea bathers should exercise caution for above normal sea swells and reduced visibility in dust haze.
