A shearline is generating occasional cloudy conditions across our islands with scattered showers. These conditions are likely to persist for the remainder of today (Friday) and Saturday. Another shearline is expected around Sunday increasing the chance of showers into Monday. By late Monday, relatively fair conditions are anticipated.
Moderate to fresh (~20-30 km/h) north easterly to east north easterly trades are crossing our islands. Speeds should gradually increase (~35 km/h) from Sunday. Seas are moderate in open waters with northerly swells peaking at 1.5m on the western coasts and near 2.0m on the eastern coasts. Swell heights should rise on eastern coasts on Friday. Small-craft operators and sea-bathers should exercise caution for above normal sea swells and occasional gusty winds. In addition, varying Saharan dust haze concentrations will be noticeable across our islands by Saturday evening.
