The Atlantic High pressure system with occasional weak pulses embedded within its southwestern periphery will continue to dominate the weather pattern this afternoon. A few light showers are forecast mainly over the Grenadines as upper level support is concentrated over the extreme Southern Windward Islands this afternoon.

Partly cloudy skies and breezy conditions should be observed tonight into tomorrow. By tomorrow afternoon however, a shearline/ pulse is forecast in the vicinity generating instability into Thursday. Wind speeds should decrease around this time period; and model guidance is indicating a few scattered showers mainly on Wednesday morning and Thursday.  By Thursday afternoon, the Atlantic high pressure should regain full dominance and brisk easterlies will move across the islands.

East North –East to East trades at 25km/h – 40km/h decreasing to approximately 20km/h -30km/h by Wednesday are forecast.  Seas are to remain moderate in open waters with swells peaking to 2.5m into tomorrow morning. A gradual improvement from Tuesday afternoon is forecast with slight conditions on the west coast and moderate on the east (1.2m-1.8m). Saharan dust will continue to be across the islands into Tuesday with varying concentrations.
