The High Pressure System centered across the Eastern Atlantic continues to pump brisk winds across the Atlantic towards the island chain. Occasional weak pulses/shearlines within the trade winds bring few scattered showers. Earlier this morning, the Grenadines experienced fair and breezy conditions while a shearline/pulse affected mainland St.Vincent.

Another weak pulse should approach the area overnight into early Wednesday. Few scattered showers can be expected as the trough may linger across the Windward Islands Wednesday being supported by an upper level low across the far Eastern Atlantic. Upper level conditions could support few showers on Thursday. By Friday, moisture pooling across the Windward Islands should result in increased shower activity late Friday into early Saturday.

Moderate to fresh (20-35km/h) East north-east trades should continue, tending to more fresh during night -time. Moderate breeze may tend to gentle (12-19km/h) breeze late Friday afternoon as the trough crosses the island chain.

Mean sea-level pressure should range 1014-1016mb dipping to 1012-1015mb by Friday. Easterly sea swells have decreased to slight to moderate, expected to become (1.0m – 2.0m) by Wednesday.

Dust concentrations visibly clearing across our area, should allow fair visibility over next few days.

Note: Although conditions are becoming less favorable for subtropical or tropical cyclone formation with a broad non-tropical area of low pressure over the northeastern Gulf of Mexico; the low will continue producing locally heavy rainfall and possible flash flooding across portions of Florida and the southeastern United States during the next few days as the low moves generally northward.
