Saharan dust haze concentrations will thicken along Sunday evening, significantly reducing visibility and air quality across our islands. Meanwhile unstable conditions associated with a passing tropical wave will continue to trigger occasional light to moderate showers under breezy conditions for the remainder of today with improvement anticipated on Monday. A few passing showers are likely on the Mainland on Tuesday and this could spread to the Grenadines on Wednesday on occasions.
Strong (~40km/h) easterly to east north easterly trades are crossing our islands with gusts near showers. A slight decrease (~35km/h) in speed is expected from Tuesday. Consequently, seas will remain moderate in open water with swells ranging between 1.5 m to 2.5m. Small craft operators and sea bathers should exercise extreme caution for above normal sea swells.
