A passing tropical wave is contributing to occasionally cloudy skies and a few showers across our islands. Weak instability trailing the wave will instigate a few showers on Wednesday before another tropical wave crosses the islands. A ridge pattern should become dominant by Thursday morning, but by Friday afternoon, unstable conditions should begin to affect the islands allowing for a few showers.
Moderate to fresh (~20 -30 km/h) east north easterly to north-easterly trades are crossing the islands with a temporary shift to east south easterly on Wednesday afternoon. A slight increase (~35km/h) is expected on Thursday before winds decrease (~25km/h) on Friday. Seas are slight to moderate in open water with swells peaking near 1.0m on western coasts and ranging between 1.5 and 2.0 m on eastern coasts. A rise in swell heights is expected on Thursday. Small craft operators and sea bathers should exercise caution for above normal sea swells. A film of Saharan dust haze is expected to cross our islands on Thursday.
