Weather Discussion:

A few showers and thunderstorms are likely across St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) this evening. Tropical Storm (TS) Jerry is expected to move near or north of the Leeward Islands and moisture/feeder-bands associated with TS Jerry could bring occasional showers and thunderstorms across SVG by Thursday night…Residents and motorists in areas prone to flash-flooding and landslides or near rivers and streams should be alert. Patches of Saharan dust could create slight/moderate-haze across our area by Saturday.

Wind speeds and directions could vary widely across our islands over the next few days. Light-gentle (10 - 20km/h) north-easterly winds could turn southerly on Thursday, increasing to occasionally fresh (30 - 35km/h) during Thursday night and early Friday.

Sea conditions are slight to moderate in open water, with swells near 1.0m(3ft) west of SVG and {1.5m(5ft) east of SVG. Swell heights are expected to rise during Thursday, ranging {1.5m(5ft) to 2.5m(8ft)} across SVG by evening…Small-craft operators and sea-bathers should exercise caution for above normal swells and occasional gusty winds.
