Weather Discussion:
Dry/stable conditions prevailed across St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) since mid-week. Increasing cloudiness, showers and thunderstorms are expected across SVG this weekend as an area of disturbance crosses the islands…Residents and motorists in areas prone to flooding and landslides or near rivers and streams should exercise caution…The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Meteorological Services (SVG MET Services) will continue to monitor any developments (30 % chance) and issue updates/advisories as necessary.
Moderate (~ 25km/h) south easterly winds across our islands could gradually increase (30 - 40km/h) over the weekend and directions could vary between northeasterly and southeasterly in some locations, as an area of disturbance crosses the islands.
Sea conditions are slight to moderate in open water, with swells near 1.0m(3ft) west of our islands and 1.5m(5ft) east of our islands. Gradual rise in swell heights is expected during the weekend, peaking {1.5m(5ft) to 2.7m(9ft)} across SVG by Sunday night...Small-craft operators and sea bathers should exercise caution for rising swells and occasional gusts.
