The Atlantic High Pressure System continues to pump brisk easterly trades bringing few patches of low level clouds across our islands. These winds also transport dry Saharan Air Layer across the Atlantic Ocean, resulting in breezy and hazy conditions with isolated showers. By late Wednesday, a tropical wave should be approaching the southern Windward Islands with few scattered showers on Thursday
(especially across the Grenadines by afternoon into early Friday).
Instability and scattered showers could spread across SVG Friday night, ahead of a high amplitude tropical wave expected late Saturday into Sunday (to be monitored).
Dust concentrations ranging 40µg/m3 - 80µg/m3 should continue across our islands reducing visibility and air quality, with concentrations possibly thickening Wednesday to range 80µg/m3 - 160µg/m3. A temporary thinning of haze is possible during Thursday when a tropical wave crosses the islands.
Mean sea-level pressure should range 1014 1016 mb, rising slightly (1015-1017 mb) by Friday as the High pressure re-establishes.
Slight to moderate sea swells can be expected on the west coasts to peak near 1.5m. Over the next few days, the east coasts could experience moderate swells peaking 2.0m. ... Small craft operators and sea bathers should exercise caution due to continued brisk winds and reduced visibility in dust haze.
