As of 8 o’clock this morning:
- A Tropical wave located along 35W has an associated area of low pressure, moving westward at 10-15mph
- A tropical wave was located along 40W south of 15N
- A Tropical wave was located along 67W south of 20N
The surface to low level high pressure system is forecast to dominate the weather pattern across Saint Vincent and the Grenadines over the next 48hours, after which, a tropical wave analyzed at 40W will approach the islands, to affect around Saturday into Sunday.
At present, only a few scattered showers are associated with this wave. In addition, the upper level trough/low will begin to shift across the island chain, but no enhancement of shower activity from this feature is anticipated due to very dry mid levels. Therefore, fair to partly cloudy skies and breezy conditions are forecast over the next couple of days, with the occasional localized showers.
Generally strong easterly breeze, varying on occasions from East north-east to East approximately 25km/h to 50km/h is forecast. Moderate to rough sea conditions are likely with swells peaking to 2.0m on the west coast and 2.5m on the east coast. Small craft operators and sea bathers should continue to exercise caution. Model analysis is indicating a decrease in hazy conditions as of tomorrow towards the end of the week.
