Although mid to upper level instability in conjunction with the Inter-Tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) has been generating cloudy skies, scattered showers and light rain over the Southern Windward islands, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines remains under the influence of the Atlantic high pressure system.
This afternoon, strong easterly trades should persist and moisture brought by these trades may create occasional late evening scattered showers. A tropical wave currently analyzed along 51W is forecast to be in the vicinity tomorrow. A favourable mid to upper levels may lend support to some shower activity across the island chain. This instability will linger well into Thursday. Model guidance is indicating a drying of the atmosphere around Thursday night, before the next tropical wave arrives in the vicinity on Friday. Model guidance is signifying most of the shower activity to be south, over the Grenadines. Further monitoring will be done.
Seas are to remain moderate in open waters and small craft operators and sea bathers are advised to exercise caution. Slight sea conditions are anticipated on the west coast (1.2m) on Thursday afternoon. Haze intrusion to thin out from tomorrow towards the end of the week.
