Hazy and breezy conditions were reported at the Argyle International Airport this afternoon. Later in the evening, some showers were experienced due to a wake cloud off the western coast of Barbados. Tonight, hazy and breezy conditions will persist, and a few showers are possible due to moisture generated across the vicinity by strong easterly trades.
The Atlantic Ridge of high pressure will dominate the weather pattern on Tuesday and similar conditions are forecast to those experienced today.
On Wednesday into Thursday, an easterly wave embedded within the Inter Tropical Convergence Zone (I.T.C.Z) will be in the vicinity to mainly affect Trinidad and Tobago. While to the north of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, as a low pressure system continues northwards, a trough like feature may be induced across islands like Dominica and Martinique. Model guidance is indicating shower activities across these islands, with no significant rainfall accumulation for Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. However, further monitoring will be done.
Strong easterly trades (25km/h – 45km/h) will decrease around Thursday (15km/h – 30km/h). Consequently, moderate sea conditions should become slight on both the east and west coast from Thursday afternoon.
Saharan dust intrusion reducing visibility is forecast to be across the islands tonight into tomorrow. Mariners and persons with respiratory issues should take caution.
