A couple weak surface-low level troughs/pulses are crossing the islands today. These troughs/pulses are being induced by a surface to mid level trough just east of the island chain. One such pulse (weak unstable conditions) is expected across SVG overnight with few scattered showers into Saturday morning. Moisture levels are expected to decrease by afternoon,
followed by another trough Sunday afternoon. Dry stable air is embedded within the troughs, but a low level shearline should position across our islands (SVG) with few scattered showers by Sunday afternoon into the night.
Late Monday, moisture ahead of the next tropical wave should start affecting the islands.
Note: A tropical wave which emerged off the west coast of Africa, is expected to move quickly westward over the tropical Atlantic at about 20 mph during the next several days. Although shower and thunderstorm activity may increase near the wave east of the Lesser Antilles by the middle of next week, development of this system is not expected….will be monitored
Gentle to moderate easterly trades can be expected this afternoon, increasing to moderate by nightfall, and varying from east north-east to east south-east.
Barometric Pressure could range 1012mb - 1014mb this afternoon, increasing to 1015-1017mb by Saturday before falling again Sunday back to 1012mb - 1014mb.
Expect slight to moderate (1.0m - 1.5m) swells on both west and east coasts less this afternoon. Generally slight seas can be expected by Monday afternoon (0.5m – 1.2m).
