Due to a south-easterly wind flow, instability and moisture advecting northwards from the Inter-tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), will continue to generate occasionally cloudy skies and passing showers across our islands. In addition, day time heating coupled with light winds may also result in localized showers and thunderstorms during the afternoon period.
A tropical wave with an associated trough located over the Central Atlantic is expected to approach the islands by late Friday. This is likely to result in showers and possible thunderstorm activity over the weekend.
Easterly to south-easterly winds ranging between 10 km/h to 35 km/h are expected during the next 72 hours.
Moderate north easterly sea swells peaking up to 2.0 meters (7.0 feet) are forecast during the next few days.
No significant haze intrusion is expected during this forecast period.
Additionally, the National Hurricane Center continues to issue advisories on Hurricane Leslie located over the far North Atlantic. This system does not pose a threat to SVG.
