The Atlantic High Pressure System is building across the area, with St.Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) positioned on its’ south western edge. Meanwhile, relatively moist mid levels and the eastward movement of a low pressure area at the upper levels, short wave troughs could support showers across mainland St.Vincent early morning Saturday. A low level trough/shearline should be
across the islands Saturday into Sunday with scattered showers increasing by afternoon across SVG. Instability across our area could further intensify Sunday evening, as the upper level troughing possibly deepens across our area. Elevated moisture and instability could continue on Monday with favourable upper level condition enhancing thunderstorm activity.
Expect gentle to moderate (10 - 25 km/h) east south-easterly breeze with a temporary reduction in speeds to possibly light (5-10km/h) late Saturday, while backing to north-easterly. Direction may vary on Saturday, followed by general increase in speeds late Sunday to become possibly fresh by Monday.
No significant dust concentrations are expected until Monday afternoon a thin patch of dust could concentrate across our area.
Expect slight (0.5 - 1.2m) seas on the west coasts and slight to moderate (1.0 - 2.0m) seas on the east coasts with north north-easterly swells. A decrease in wave heights (0.5 - 1.5m on east coasts) should be noticeable by late Saturday with occasional smooth seas possible on western coasts. Wave heights should rise again during Monday in response to increasing wind speeds.
