Mainland St.Vincent experienced partly cloudy and breezy conditions today, while the Northern Grenadines experienced some showers resulting from a wake cloud line and the Southern Grenadines brief passing showers. Tonight, moderate to fresh breeze being pumped by the Atlantic High Pressure System, could bring along moisture resulting in cloudiness and showers. A couple weak lower level
troughs passing on the southern edge of the High Pressure System are expected to cross our area over the weekend. These weak troughs could result in occasional weak instability, some cloudiness and few passing showers.
Fresh north-easterly breeze (30 - 45km/h) can be expected overnight, with temporary slight reduction in wind speeds possible during Saturday afternoon as a weak trough crosses the area. Wind directions could vary during Saturday night (east north-easterly to east south-easterly), returning to north-easterly fresh breeze again on Sunday.
Moderate seas should peak near 1.8m on west and near 2.5m on east coasts. Small craft operators and sea-bathers should exercise caution...Moderate to rough northerly swells are expected on the eastern side of Barbados (beyond 59W) in the open Atlantic Ocean, from late Sunday. Wave heights should be decreasing by Monday afternoon.
Mean Sea Level pressure should range 1016mb - 1018mb overnight, but an eastward shift in the High Pressure centers could result in readings rising to 1020mb over the weekend.
Patches of slight hazy conditions across our area should thin out late Saturday.
