Atlantic High Pressure System continues to dominate conditions, with slim chance for shower activity as dry-air hovers above 850mb (4,780ft). A weak low level shearline/trough in the wind-flow could bring few shallow cloud patches across SVG with scattered showers possible tonight into early Wednesday (especially Southern Grenadines). , dipping southward over the Western Atlantic on Friday resulting in increased wind speeds across the region.
Moderate north-easterly trades this afternoon should increase to fresh (up to 40km/h) during the night/early morning. Fresh breeze should prevail on Thursday, becoming possibly strong (up to 50km/h) late Friday into Saturday. Persons in exposed (Windward) areas should be cautious; as large branches may be set in motion/bend with the force of the wind, over-head wires may become disconnected and loose items may be dislodged or tip over.
Sea swells should range 1.2 – 2.0m, with slight seas in open water on the west coast and slight to moderate seas on the east coasts this afternoon. On Thursday, wave heights should be rising to moderate across SVG. Mariners, small craft-operators should be extremely cautious as long waves and airborne sea-spray may be encountered in open water by late Friday… Marine advisories may be issued towards weekend.
Fairly good visibility is expected, with occasional slight hazy conditions on our horizon by Thursday.
