A lower-level shearline drifting southward continues to affect St.Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG). This latest shearline should be south of our islands by late Tuesday. Meanwhile, the Western Atlantic High Pressure system is expected to rebuild across our area, with occasional shearline features possible across our islands positioned on the south-eastern edge of the Western Atlantic High Pressure System
resulting in occasional showers accompanied by gusty winds.
Fresh north-easterly breeze should persist this afternoon with occasional higher gusts. Wind speed reduction to moderate breeze can be expected during the afternoons on Tuesday and Wednesday picking up to fresh night-time breeze. Direction should veer to east-south-easterly during Thursday.
Moderate (1.5 – 2.5m) swells are expected this afternoon across SVG, thus small craft-operators and sea bathers should exercise caution for above normal swells and occasional gusty winds. Seas are expected to be slight to moderate (1.2 - 2.0m) by Wednesday.
Barometric readings should range 1015 - 1016mb by Monday night, rising further to 1016 - 1018mb by Wednesday as the Western Atlantic High Pressure system rebuilds.
No dust concentration is expected across our area over this weekend.
