Shower activity associated with a lower level trough and supported by mid to upper level features, concentrated across northern Windwards and Leewards (Martinique northwards to Antigua and Barbuda) over the last 24 hour period. Isolated shower activity occurred within around northern point and interior areas of mainland St. Vincent. The Atlantic High Pressure system should be dominant across our
area, with relatively dry mid to upper level (above 850mb) environment. Weak shearline features could bring isolated showers across our islands. Meanwhile, a weak low-level trough should be approaching the island chain during Monday bringing few occasional showers into Tuesday.
Moderate (20 - 30km/h) north-easterly breeze can be expected this afternoon, becoming temporarily fresh (30 – 40km/h) across the Southern Grenadines early morning Sunday. Thereafter, gentle breeze may be noticeable on afternoons merely increasing to moderate during nighttime across SVG.
Slight to moderate (1.0 - 2.0m) swells are across our islands, expected to originate from north again during Sunday afternoon. Wave heights could gradually fall to range 0.5- 1.2m by Monday night, then originating from north-east during Tuesday.
Barometric readings are up, ranging 1016 - 1018mb; expected to fall as a low deepens off the USA east coast late Sunday, weakening the pressure to fluctuate between 1013 - 1017mb during Monday.
Visibility should continue to improve on our horizon this weekend, to be at best on Monday. Few small dust patches are expected by late Tuesday to occasionally reduce visibility….JMCD
