During this morning, showers associated with a weak shearline moved across the island chain in the vicinity of St. Lucia, just north of mainland St.Vincent. Few showers are possible across our islands as cloud patches within the wind-flow, cross the islands this afternoon. Occasionally, moisture converging on the southern edge of the Western Atlantic High Pressure could result in increased cloudiness
with scattered showers. The building of a Western Atlantic High Pressure off the continental United States by Tuesday should cause barometric readings to rise to 1018 - 1020mb across our area during Wednesday; before dipping again late Thursday.
Moderate to fresh (20 - 35km/h) east north-easterly trades this afternoon should be increasing tonight with occasional strong gusts. By early morning, fresh (30 – 40km/h) breeze should prevail, occasionally backing to north north-easterly and gradually decreasing towards the weekend.
Slight to moderate (1.0 – 2.0m) sea swells across our islands should rise in response to increasing wind speeds. Wave heights are expected to range 1.5 – 2.5m by late Tuesday, across St. Vincent and the Grenadines…Small craft-operators and sea bathers would be advised to exercise caution…wave heights should be decreasing during next weekend.
Occasional thin dust patches are noticeable on our horizon and should thin out late Tuesday for improved visibility...JMCD
