Over the next couple days, the south-easterly flow should continue across our islands with speeds ranging 15 – 35km/h. This could result in moisture convergence with patches of low level clouds causing occasional cloudy skies and scattered showers. A couple weak lower-level shearlines and mid to upper level features should support such shower activity across our area this weekend.
Slight to moderate sea conditions ranging 0.6 – 1.2m on west coasts of St.Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) should become northerly tonight, continuing until Saturday night. Sea conditions on east coasts should continue slight to moderate ranging 1.2 – 2.0m occasionally originating from the north until late Saturday. These northerly swells are being propagated by a stationary front across the Western Atlantic Ocean. North-easterly swells are expected across SVG during Sunday as the front possibly dissipates.
Barometric readings should continue between 1012 and 1016mb. The Atlantic High Pressure System is expected to weaken over the weekend and shift northwards, resulting in readings across SVG to dip to lower end. During next week, Low pressure areas could possibly deepen on the western and eastern sides of the Atlantic Ocean, some instability could be induced across the island chain.
The thin film of Saharan dust noticeable on our horizon should be cleared by late Sunday.
