A weak lower- level trough is crossing the region and moisture trailing its axis should cause occasional cloudiness with a few showers across our islands this afternoon, increasing tonight. The High Pressure System should be re-establishing itself across the Atlantic; but lower-level moisture associated with shearline features on its southern edge, are expected across the Southern Windward Islands including St.Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) this weekend.
Additionally, support at the mid to upper levels could align to enhance shower activity. Partly cloudy to occasionally cloudy skies, with scattered light to moderate showers can be expected over the weekend possibly continuing on Monday.
Thereafter, the High Pressure should struggle with a Low Pressure System and an associated cold-front deepening in the North Atlantic during next week.
Moderate to occasionally fresh (20 - 40km/h) easterly trades should occasionally back to east north-easterly over the next few days.
East north-easterly sea swells should continue between 0.6m and 1.2m on west coasts, peaking near 2.0m on the east coasts of SVG. Wave heights should start rising during Saturday…Mariners should exercise caution for above normal swells, which could peak near 1.5m on west coasts and near 2.5m on east coasts of SVG by Monday.
Barometric readings should generally range between 1012mb and 1016mb across our area, temporarily rising to 1017mb on Saturday.
No significant dust concentrations are expected across our area, but slight haze is possible with a bit of dust concentrations on Monday.
