A deep ‘cut-off low’ in the Central Atlantic could create favourable mid to upper level (tropical upper tropospheric trough-TUTT) support for shower activity with troughs occasionally propagating the island chain. One such trough should be approaching our islands on Tuesday, with increasing moisture/cloudiness across the Grenadine Islands to shift northwards with scattered showers across St.Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) by evening. Deep convective clouds (towering) and isolated thunderstorms are possible across SVG during Tuesday night.
Instability should remain elevated with some cloudiness on Wednesday and the approach of another through. By nightfall and on Thursday, periods of rain, showers and isolated thunderstorms can be expected across our area as lower level moisture converges within an anti-cyclonic (High Pressure) circulation centered east of the island chain.
Gentle to moderate (10 - 30km/h) north-easterly breeze can be expected, occasionally veering to east south-easterly with the passage of troughs.
On the west coasts, sea-swells should range between 0.6m and 1.2m while east coasts can expect sea-swells between 1.2m and 1.8m originating from north north-east by late Tuesday until Friday.
Barometric readings should fluctuate between 1011mb and 1015mb across our area with the passage of a couple troughs.
No significant dust concentrations are expected across our islands over the next few days.
