A mass of Saharan dust being transported by an Atlantic High Pressure circulation is creating hazy conditions with varying intensity, reducing visibility and associated dry air is limiting shower activity across the islands. On the southern fringe of the High Pressure circulation, weak tropical waves are crossing the southern portion of the Eastern Caribbean. Low level cloud patches ahead of a tropical wave could bring scattered showers across our area from early Thursday as the haze gives way. Moisture behind the tropical wave axis should cross the islands late Friday
(greatest accumulations near TnT). Over the weekend, a mid-upper level trough is expected to deepen with features occasionally supporting shower activity as another tropical wave quickly approaches the islands on Sunday.
East south-easterly gentle to moderate (15 - 35 km/h) breeze should continue across our area, becoming occasionally fresh (near 40km/h). A more easterly direction is expected on Friday.
Slight to moderate sea conditions are expected with easterly sea-swells ranging 0.6m to 1.2m on the west coasts and 1.2m to 1.8m on the east coasts. Wave heights should be increasing overnight Friday to possibly range 1.0 to 1.8 on west coast and 1.5 to 2.2m on east coasts during Saturday.
Barometric readings should range 1012mb to 1015mb across our area, rising slightly over the weekend as the High Pressure builds.
