The reduced shower activity this morning should continue into early afternoon. By evening, moisture levels should be increasing again as the next tropical wave approaches the region. Mid to upper level features should support lower level instability with showers and isolated thunderstorm activity across our area by early Saturday.
Cloudiness should mix with hazy conditions on Sunday, followed quickly by another tropical wave expected to cross the region late Sunday into Monday with more showers and isolated thunderstorm activity.
Wind direction should vary between east south-east and east north-east this afternoon with moderate to fresh (20 – 40 km/h) breeze; veering is expected again during Saturday behind the axis of the first tropical wave axis. Varying directions during Sunday will indicate the approach of the following tropical wave as well as fresh to strong (30 - 50km/h) breeze.
Slight to moderate sea conditions are across SVG with east north-easterly sea-swells ranging 1.2m to 2.2m by Saturday. As wind speeds gradually increase, wave heights should be rising to moderate early next week.
Barometric readings should range 1014 – 1016mb across our area, rising slightly Monday.
